Data Analyst

1 FTE
Thunder Bay Site

One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres, is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.

We are currently seeking 1 FTE Data Analyst, who, as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team, will provide data analysis expertise, information/data dissemination and evaluation. This position includes the development and maintenance of systems and processes for collecting data, extracting and merging data from various corporate sources, tracking performance indicators, conducting analyses, preparing reports and interpreting analyses in collaboration with Directors, Managers, staff and providers.

The position has a competitive salary, and the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan is an optional benefit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in information systems, data analysts or equivalent field.
  • Minimum two years of analyst experience. – Preferred
  • Understanding SQL statements, Relational Database design and architecture, and understanding of logical operators
  • Basic programming skills as well, with experience in R and/or Python are an asset
  • Experience working with Excel Pivot Tables, Text Formulas, Power Query, VLOOKUP, and duplicate removal.
  • Experience with iterative design process.
  • Experience with tools used for data analysis, such as Logi Report, JReport Tableau, SPSS, SAS, IBM Cognos, and PowerBI
  • Experience with with ERM and HRIS systems is an asset (Dayforce / PS Suites)
  • Proven ability to undertake advanced statistical analysis and interpretation of all types of health data.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and customer service.
  • Superior relationship building ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and process mapping skills.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQI+, newcomers, non-insured).
  • Strong problem solving, planning and decision-making, leadership, organizational and change management skills.
  • A current driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
