In the Spotlight: Mid-Main Community Health Centre
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the mission of Mid-Main CHC is “to improve the health of clients by delivering comprehensive, accessible and high-quality health services according to individual and family needs”.
The vision for Mid-Main CHC began in 1986 from an idea originating with the Board of Directors at the REACH Community Health Centre — another Vancouver-based CHC. They envisioned a collection of multi-faceted Community Health Centres to serve the population of Vancouver’s Lower Mainland.
Rebirth: Introducing CACHC
2012: Following an extensive restructuring process, CACHCA is re-launched as the Canadian Association of Community Health Centres (CACHC). More than just a name change, the restructuring ushers in an exciting new era for Community Health Centres and community-oriented primary health care across Canada. The association launches an expanded effort across Canada to improve access for Canadians to high-quality, people-centred and community-oriented primary health care.
In the Spotlight: NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre
NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre has served the Inkster community in northwest Winnipeg, Manitoba, since 1972. NorWest Co-op CHC is a forerunner in taking a multi-service, holistic, team approach to health care.
